Lot 274		ANTONIO CANOVA. EROS & PSYCHE - PSYCHE REVIVED BY THE KISS OF LOVE. Eros (Roman Cupid) & Psyche (Greek for soul) marble sculpture. This sculpture titled "Psyche Revived by the Kiss of Love", originally by Antonio Canova, has good detail and depicts a great story from mythology exemplifying the Neoclassical obsession with love and emotion. This piece is unsigned showing no major breaks, chips, cracks or losses. The wings of Eros are inserted (not fixed) to his back.
